Robotics Camp (Full Day 10-15 year olds)
Come join the HSC Robotics Summer Camp, where interested individuals will learn the basics of engineering through hands-on activities. These STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities were designed by the members of the HSC Robotics team, who have competed in the prestigious World Championship twice. Beyond science and engineering principles, this camp promotes teamwork, leadership and problem solving within groups. The week will be split into two sections; in the first three days campers will learn the concepts of structure, motion and interaction through the use of the support pieces, motors and sensors of VEX IQ. The final two days will consist of building a robot to participate in a competitive game between teams of campers, which will take place on Friday.  $250.00

Trojan Golf  (Full Day 10-15 year olds)
This camp provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of golf, combined with daily practice. Golfers receive daily instruction for two hours covering putting, chipping, tee and fairway play. Jeremy Williams' Pro Hockey Camp (Full Day 8-15 year olds)
HSC Summer Camps is pleased to welcome professional hockey player, Jeremy Williams and his Pro Hockey program. In this one-week hockey development camp, current and former NHL players teach students many aspects of the sport, both on and off the ice. Each day campers benefit from two hours of ice time, working on specific skill sets that will be utilized in practices and games. These skill areas include; skating technique, shooting, passing, stickhandling, and offensive/defensive awareness. The off-ice sessions include teamwork exercises, nutrition, and plyometric training. The Jeremy Williams Pro Hockey Camp helps children enhance their individual and teamwork skills, to not only make them better players, but perhaps tomorrow’s hockey stars!

Former Toronto Maple Leaf Jeremy Williams has played professional hockey for 12 years, with 700 professional career games. Known for his quick release shot and deadly accuracy, he has thrived in the NHL, AHL, WHL, and European hockey leagues. Jeremy’s awards include:

  • NHL record of scoring a goal in his first three call up games in three separate seasons
  • Being named to the AHL All-Star team and Shooting Accuracy Champion
  • Named CHL First Team All-Star alongside Sydney Crosby
  • Most Goals scored in both the Western Hockey League and Sweden's Allsvenskan
  • Winning the European Trophy

Jeremy is currently a captain leading his team both on and off the ice in Sweden, as well as a top scorer in his league for the third year in a row. Jeremy looks forward to teaching today’s young players, sharing the knowledge and skills he has acquired in the last 29 years. Trojan Basketball (Full Day 8-15 year olds)
HSC Summer Camps is pleased to welcome Richard Nurse who will be running this one week elite basketball program. Trojan Basketball will focus on skill development looking at:

  • One-on-one play off the dribble
  • One-on-one play off the catch
  • Creative finishing around the rim
  • Developing a mid-range game
  • Functional ball handling
  • Playing off penetration
  • Handling individual pressure

Coach Nurse has been coaching for over 19 years at the Club Level with Hamilton Transway. He has coached at all age groups from U10 to U19. For the last 10 years he has run and managed one of the premier girls AAU development and recruiting organizations in Ontario Canada Drive Basketball Development. He has won 14 Ontario Basketball Gold medals and has been instrumental in the development of CIS, NCAA and Provincial basketball players such as Taylor Smith, Marie Warner, Christina Buttenham, Kia Nurse and many more.  $275.00

Ashley Leggat's Triple Threat Workshop (Full Day 9-15 year olds)
This exciting two-week camp, introduces students to the three major components of the entertainment industry: acting, dancing and singing. The camp includes special guest speakers from the entertainment business, learning dance combinations, song study from today’s greatest hits, and scene study. At the end of the camp, students stage a short performance at HSC for family and friends. This is the perfect workshop for kids interested in learning the basics of the ‘biz!

Ashley Leggat is a Hamilton born two-time Gemini nominated actress. She starred as ‘Casey’ in Disney & Family Channel’s hit comedy series Life with Derek, and the movie Vacation with Derek. She appeared as ‘Marcia’ in the Disney film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen with Lindsay Lohan. Recently Ashley starred as ‘Baby’ in the critically acclaimed production of Dirty Dancing at Toronto’s Royal Alex Theatre. Ashley had starring roles in the Lifetime movies The Perfect Roommate, and The Perfect Boss, followed by the feature film My Dog’s Christmas Miracle/Cinnamon. This was followed by the guest starring role of ‘Ivy’ on Murdoch Mysteries, and a co-starring role on Criminal Minds.   • Bridges: Spaghetti and straws make surprisingly strong bridges when assembled using engineering principles
  • Towers: Joints and strengthening techniques are important as you build the tallest possible skyscraper

Trojan Multi-Sport (Full Day 8-15 year olds)
Have your athletes/children enjoy a week of fitness and fun at Multi-Sport camp. With the use of our fields and incredible athletic complex, campers will be taught sport skills, sport specific conditioning and play games in a variety of their favourite sports. Sports include combatives, rugby, soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, floorball, dodgeball and fitness. CanFit Pro certified, NCCP coach certified, educator and top athlete Melissa Mancini is the facilitator of this camp. Guest clinicians and senior athletes will also lead sessions. Trojan Tennis (Full Day 8-15 year olds)
A one week game based tennis program focused on developing technical, tactical, and mental skills. This high-intensity program will emphasize the development of the physical fitness and co-ordination associated with high level performance.  Nutrition, recovery, and overall health and body well-being will also be thoroughly examined. 
Jay Barlow is a certified level 3 Coach with Tennis Canada, who currently resides in Hamilton, Ontario.  He is the head coach of the National Team at ACE tennis in Burlington, and teaches juniors aspiring to earn U.S. scholarships or travel on the pro tour. With over 14 years of coaching experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge for players of all ages and skill levels. His ability to communicate and transfer understanding to his students while motivating and expanding their capabilities has earned him a reputation as a leader in the sport. Jay has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and was captain of the men’s varsity tennis team from 2000-2004.  $325.00

Players will receive highly-qualified and certified instruction on a daily basis and build their serve, forehand and backhand as core part of the program. The more intermediate players will work on additional elements of the game including volley, return of serve, overhead and discuss more about court position and strategy. As well, all players will develop their cardio-fitness level through daily stretching and fitness exercises. This will combine with a daily nutritional component to ensure that “healthy eating/snacking” provides each player with all the energy they need to perform well.  $115.00
